Your child/children, and any family members that join, will be invited to join us at St. Bonaventure to walk around the Richter Center and collect treats, play games, and participate in fun, inclusive, accessible activities!
You can expect a sensory-friendly environment free of sudden noises, loud music, scary decorations, flashing lights, etc. As well as an accessible environment for people of all physical abilities (with no uneven, or poorly lit sidewalks to navigate).
-
Creating a space and event that is tailored to children with special needs requires a very thoughtful approach that prioritizes ACCESSIBILITY, COMFORT, SECURITY, and ENJOYMENT for all children.
Some of these factors we have considered are noise level, crowd size, physical limitations/barriers, consideration of the treats provided and activities offered.
Opening the event to the public could infringe on some of these considerations making it less accessible or accommodating for those with special needs or disabilities.

YES!!!! Please invite your child's friends and family to join (make sure you register them as well)! This event has been mindfully created to accommodate children with special needs and disabilities. Our goal in organizing an inclusive event is to create an environment where differently-abled children can participate in, enjoy, and have memorable experiences alongside the people that mean the most to them!
